Thirty-eight fields from the Mosaic land-surface model simulate energy and water balances for the North American continent. Hourly data spans from January 1979 to the present on a 1/8th-degree grid. The model was developed by Koster and Suarez and is maintained by NASA's GES DISC.
Data is provided in NetCDF format, converted from the original GRIB files. Requires familiarity with geospatial data analysis tools. The model's specific configuration, including fixed soil parameters, is detailed in Xia et al. (2012).
