Tree ring width measurements from Cedar Butte, South Dakota, United States, form a chronology for paleoclimate reconstruction. The dataset covers 300 years, from 259 to -41 calendar years before present (BP). It is an archived study from the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information's World Data Service for Paleoclimatology, last updated in 1991.
Time notation uses calendar years before present (BP), where 'present' is conventionally 1950 CE; negative values indicate years after 1950. Users must cite the study per NOAA requirements.
