Tree ring width measurements from Ponderosa Pine (PIPO) specimens in Hoosier Canyon, New Mexico, provide a climate proxy record. The chronology spans 331 years, from 291 to -40 calendar years before present. NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information archives this paleoclimatology study.
Users must cite the original study (Swetnam - Hoosier Canyon - PIPO - ITRDB NM562) when using the data. The time axis uses 'years before present' (BP), where 'present' is conventionally 1950 CE.
