Description
A bathymetry survey acquired by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment from August 13, 2017, to March 4,我们发现2022. The dataset contains 32-bit floating point geotiff files of bathymetry and backscatter in 5-meter resolution for the area from Bellambi Point to Stanwell Park, derived from processed multibeam sonar data.
Use Cases
Map spatial distribution of seabed types based on the described purpose of the project.
Establish baseline environmental conditions for coastal monitoring based on the described baseline dataset.
Analyze seafloor morphology and texture using the 5m resolution bathymetry and backscatter data.
Strengths
Data collection spanned nearly five years, from August 2017 to March 2022.
High-resolution 5-meter grid for both bathymetry and backscatter data.
Standard operating procedures and a survey report are referenced, suggesting documented methodology.
Limitations
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
The description explicitly states the dataset is not to be used for navigational purposes.
