Description
A land classification hierarchy for Northern Ireland developed using the Merlewood method and TWINSPAN multivariate analysis. The classification is based on a sample of 700 1km grid squares, with attributes on climate, elevation, topography, vegetation, hydrology, settlement, geology, and soils. In total, 14,377 1km grid squares were assigned to one of 23 land classes.
