NSW Marine LiDAR Topo-Bathy 2018 Geotif

July–December 2018 remotely sensed topographic and bathymetric data acquired for the New South Wales and southern Queensland coast using Airborne LiDAR Bathymetry. The dataset covers an area of 6862 km², providing combined terrestrial elevation and marine depth data at a 5 x 5 m horizontal resolution, processed to Australian Height Datum. Data were acquired by Fugro Pty Ltd on behalf of the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage and are provided via the Geosciences Australia ELVIS website.

Use Cases

• Model coastal erosion and sediment transport based on high-resolution elevation and depth data.
• Map nearshore bathymetry for habitat modeling based on laser-derived depth soundings.
• Analyze coastal inundation risks based on combined terrestrial and marine elevation grids.
• Support marine spatial planning based on data covering from the mean high-water mark to approximately 200m inland and seaward to laser extinction depth.
