Salmonella Antimicrobial Resistance in Brazilian Poultry Farms, 2010-2011

342 drag swabs from poultry farms in western Paraná, Brazil, were processed between January 2010 and January 2011, resulting in 39 isolated Salmonella strains. Jessica Angela Pandini authored this study, which found 51% of serotypes showed resistance to one or more antimicrobials. The highest resistance was to tetracycline (30.8%), while the lowest was to gentamicin and chloramphenicol (2.6%).
