Arctic Oil-in-Ice Characterization Tests from 2022 Field Campaigns

NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration led a multi-agency team to evaluate sensor technologies for oil detection in ice environments. Two experiments were conducted near Alaska's Beaufort Sea and aboard a Canadian Coast Guard vessel between May and July 2022. The findings are intended to support spill response activities in icy navigable waters.
