Ocean Margin Exchange Project Data from the Celtic Sea Shelf Edge

OMEX I Project Data 1993-1996 comprises over 600 data sets from a multidisciplinary study of physical, chemical, and biological processes at the ocean margin. The SCIOPS organization assembled data from 47 research cruise legs conducted between April 1993 and December 1995. Over 95% of the field data is included on a CD-ROM.

Use Cases

• Analyze temporal patterns in Air-Sea Flux Data to model carbon dioxide exchange.
• Correlate features in the OMEX Hydrographic Atlas with benthic data from the two benthic databases.
• Use digital bathymetry and satellite images to study the relationship between seafloor topography and biological communities.
