Martijn A. Cohen from Delft University of Technology presents data on microwave amplification using an optomechanical cavity. The work demonstrates high-gain, low-noise amplification in the extremely unresolved sideband limit, with a tunable center frequency. The amplification scheme does not rely on dynamical backaction and is predicted to enable near-quantum-limited performance.
