Description
Municipality-level data on the number of vans in the Netherlands, broken down by vehicle age class, user type (company/private), and user region. The dataset covers from 2018 onward, with provisional figures for 2021 and 2022, and is published by the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The population includes all vans with a valid Dutch registration active during any part of the reporting year, leading to counts higher than the number registered on a single reference date.
Use Cases
Modeling regional commercial vehicle demand based on user type and location breakdowns.
Analyzing vehicle fleet age distribution and turnover rates across municipalities.
Forecasting transportation infrastructure needs based on historical van registration trends.
Strengths
Data is broken down by municipality, providing fine-grained geographic detail.
Covers multiple years from 2018, allowing for temporal trend analysis.

Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Figures for recent years are provisional and subject to revision.
