AURORA hyperspectral imaging captured 72 spectral bands at 3-meter resolution for coral reef analysis. This project developed methods to map benthic habitats by interpreting aerial photos, hyperspectral, and IKONOS satellite imagery. The cooperative effort involved NOAA, the University of Hawaii, and Analytical Laboratories of Hawaii, with data processed around the year 2000.
The primary purpose was methodological development for mapping; accessing the actual orthorectified imagery files may require contacting the source organizations. License terms are unknown.
