Description
9 core outcomes for evaluating prognostic models in advanced cancer, spanning five domains: physiological/clinical outcomes, global quality of life, care delivery, perceived health status, and personal circumstances. The set was developed via a systematic review identifying 70 outcomes, patient interviews adding 16, and a two-round Delphi survey with 49 experts from 14 countries. Caitlin Medlock published the dataset on figshare in April 2026.
Use Cases
Standardizing outcome selection in clinical trials based on the 9 agreed core outcomes.
Comparing the impact of different prognostic models based on the five defined outcome domains.
Informing patient-centered research design based on outcomes identified from interviews with patients and caregivers.
Strengths
Development followed the Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials (COMET) initiative's recommended methodology.
International expert panel of 49 participants from 14 countries contributed to the Delphi survey.
Outcomes were consolidated from a systematic review of 70 outcomes and patient interviews adding 16 more.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
The dataset is very small at 9.5 KB, indicating limited scope.
