515 survey responses from students aged 18-25 at two universities in Islamabad explore the link between Instagram use and mental well-being. The data, collected in 2024, applies a conditional mediation model to show how Instagram use predicts decreased self-esteem and higher depression, moderated by social comparison. Author Ayesha Qamar published the dataset on figshare under a CC-BY-4.0 license.
