Description
Data from a study tracking retinal microvascular changes in male Ins2Akita x NG2DSRed mice aged 7–61 weeks, compared to age-matched euglycemic controls. The dataset, authored by Fei Shang and shared on figshare, includes analyses of vessel density, branching, length, tortuosity, pericyte density, and plexus connectivity. It was last updated on 2026-05-28.
Use Cases
Analyzing the impact of sustained hyperglycemia on retinal vessel density and branching patterns.
Comparing microvascular metrics like tortuosity and pericyte density between diabetic and control mouse models.
Investigating the connectivity between vascular plexuses at different eccentricities from the optic disc.
Correlating in vivo adaptive optics scanning light ophthalmoscope (AOSLO) imaging with ex vivo confocal microscopy data.
Strengths
Includes data from 27 mice (14 hyperglycemic, 13 euglycemic controls) across an age range of 7–61 weeks.
