Description
352 small-scale farmers in villages surrounding Lake Tana were surveyed via face-to-face interviews and observations. The data, collected by Balew Yibel Zeleke and last updated in April 2026, reveals that 100% of respondents used pesticides, 42.3% had good knowledge, and 57.1% used banned substances like DDT.
Use Cases
Modeling the relationship between education level and pesticide application practices based on logistic regression results.
Analyzing geographic variation in pesticide practices across the four study regimes (Dembia, Fogera, Bahirdar, Gilegel Abay).
Assessing the prevalence of banned pesticide use based on the reported 57.1% usage rate.
Evaluating the correlation between knowledge scores (42.3% good) and reported practices (22.4% good).
Strengths
Includes specific statistical results, such as odds ratios (AOR=2.329) and chi-square test p-values (<0.05).
