Description
KAP_Scores_Emana_2023 is a dataset from a cross-sectional study of 249 participants in Emana village, Cameroon, conducted in 2023. The study, authored by Steve Joko, assessed knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) towards malaria and their association with a 24.9% parasitological prevalence rate. It includes a subgroup of 104 participants with complete sociodemographic data.
Use Cases
Analyzing the gap between malaria knowledge and preventive practices based on KAP scores and parasitological screening results.
Investigating demographic risk factors for malaria infection based on prevalence data across age groups like the 5-18 year bracket.
Modeling associations between sociodemographic factors (e.g., gender, education) and malaria-related behaviors using the collected survey scores.
Strengths
Dataset includes parasitological screening results (microscopy) for 249 participants, providing a biological measure of infection.
Analysis includes a subgroup of 104 participants with complete sociodemographic data for detailed demographic correlation.
Statistical methods like Mann-Whitney U and logistic regression are described, suggesting structured analysis.
Limitations
Row count for the primary dataset is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for certain analyses.
