Description
Lemeng Liu's dataset constructs a multidimensional urbanization index for Zhangjiakou City, co-host of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. It covers population, economy, built-environment, and ecology dimensions from 2017 to 2022, applying spatial autocorrelation analysis and GeoDetector. The dataset was last updated on figshare in May 2026.
Use Cases
Analyze urbanization level trends based on the multidimensional index covering population, economy, built-environment, and ecology.
Examine spatial autocorrelation patterns based on the economic urbanization dimension.
Identify explanatory factors for urbanization dynamics based on urban economic density, per capita urban road area, population density distribution, and total urban population.
Study the expansion of high-level urbanization areas based on the shift from the central urban core toward the northern region.
Strengths
Dataset applies the CRITIC weighting method to construct a multidimensional index.
Analysis spans a 5-year period from 2017 to 2022.
Dataset includes spatial autocorrelation analysis and GeoDetector application.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect geographic bias inherent to focusing solely on Zhangjiakou City.
