Description
350 survey responses from students, faculty, and staff at Saudi universities assess knowledge, awareness, and perceived barriers to adaptive sports. The dataset, created by Monira I. Aldhahi and last updated in May 2026, includes quantitative survey results and qualitative insights from focus groups and interviews with students with disabilities. It was collected using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design.
Use Cases
Analyzing knowledge gaps about adaptive sports based on reported mean scores and domain-specific awareness levels.
Identifying institutional barriers to participation based on reported lack of policies, facilities, and funding.
Comparing perceptions between students with disabilities and faculty/staff based on qualitative interview themes.
Assessing demographic factors influencing awareness based on survey participant composition.
Strengths
Includes 350 survey responses with a defined demographic composition (18.29% reported disabilities, 70.57% females, mean age 28).
Employs a mixed-methods design, combining quantitative survey data with qualitative focus groups and six interviews.
Provides specific, quantified metrics for knowledge (mean score: 8/16) and awareness (e.g., 75.71% unaware of training).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count for the underlying data tables is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The dataset's 137.5 KB size suggests a limited scope, primarily containing survey summary data rather than raw individual responses.
