Kathmandu, Nepal, is the focus of this cross-sectional mixed-method study of 140 older parents aged over 60 whose adult children have migrated abroad. The dataset, created by Soniya Shrestha and last updated in May 2026, measures depression using the Geriatric Depression Scale and includes associated demographic and social factors. It reveals that nearly half of the surveyed empty nesters had depression, with single parents having significantly higher odds of depressive symptoms.
The dataset is very small at 57.3 KB, indicating limited scope.
