Description
A complete dataset of urolithiasis burden measures for 21 countries in North Africa and the Middle East from 1990 to 2021. It includes incidence, prevalence, deaths, YLDs, YLLs, and DALYs, with all-age numbers, age-standardized rates, percent change, and uncertainty intervals. The data is stratified by sex, age, and country and was authored by Sina Golestani.
Use Cases
Modeling temporal trends in urolithiasis incidence and prevalence based on the 1990–2021 time series.
Comparing disease burden metrics like DALYs and YLLs across different countries and sexes.
Analyzing age-specific patterns of urolithiasis using the age-stratified data.
Assessing uncertainty in burden estimates using the provided uncertainty intervals.
Strengths
Includes six core burden measures (incidence, prevalence, deaths, YLDs, YLLs, DALYs) for a 32-year period.
Covers 21 countries in a defined region (North Africa and Middle East) with sex and age stratification.
Provides multiple metrics per measure, including all-age numbers, age-standardized rates, and percent change.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for large-scale modeling.
The dataset is small (416.8 KB), indicating a limited scope focused on aggregated summary statistics.
