South Perth Shale Supersequence Palaeogeographic Maps For CO2 Storage Assessment

Geoscience Australia produced palaeogeographic maps of the South Perth Shale Supersequence in the Vlaming Sub-basin to assess its CO2 containment potential. The project, part of the 2011 National CO2 Infrastructure Plan, applied a sequence-stratigraphic approach to map mudstone facies distribution. These facies form the effective sub-regional seal for carbon storage.
