Description
61 files contain time-series data from a towed undulating CTD platform (Acrobat) near the mouth of Long Island Sound. The dataset includes longitude, latitude, pressure, temperature, conductivity, salinity, and sigma-t measurements collected between July 2009 and August 2010. Observations were made using a Towed Oceanographic Microstructure and Auxiliary Sensors Instrument (TOMASI) aboard the R/V Lowell Weicker.
Use Cases
Analyzing vertical water column structure based on pressure, temperature, and salinity profiles.
Mapping spatial variability of oceanographic parameters across the survey region using longitude and latitude.
Investigating tidal influences on subtidal exchange using time-series data collected over a 13-month period.
Calibrating or validating numerical simulations of coastal hydrodynamics with in-situ observations.
Strengths
Contains data from 61 separate files, suggesting multiple sampling events.
Provides detailed sensor and platform metadata (TOMASI instrument, Acrobat vehicle).
Covers a specific 13-month time range from July 2009 to August 2010.
Includes high-resolution geospatial and time-series data from an undulating towed platform.
Limitations
Exact row count, file size, and complete column list are not provided in the available metadata.
