Lithostratigraphy and down-hole logs from Ocean Drilling Program Sites 1166 and 1167 reconstruct glacial dynamics in eastern Prydz Bay, Antarctica. The data indicate repeated advances and retreats of the Lambert Glacier-Amery Ice Shelf system, with the grounding line not reaching the shelf break after 0.78 million years. Systematic fluctuations in sediment facies link the development of the Prydz trough-mouth fan to increased ice-rafted debris delivery to the Southern Ocean.
