PnET models simulate carbon, water, and nitrogen dynamics in forest ecosystems. The nested models, developed by John Aber and colleagues at the University of New Hampshire's Complex Systems Research Center, predict transient responses to climate, nitrogen deposition, ozone, and land use changes. The models have been validated at both site and grid levels up to 1-km resolution in the Northeastern United States.
