A 1:24,000 scale surficial geologic map and digital database covering 258 square kilometers of the Calico Mountains piedmont and Coyote Lake in California's Mojave Desert. The dataset was produced by the USGS as part of a project investigating climate-linked deposits, tectonic history, and land use management. It integrates bedrock mapping from McCulloh (1960, 1965) with new findings, including previously unrecognized faults.
Spatial data requires GIS software compatible with ArcInfo personal geodatabase, Microsoft Access, or dBase formats. Printable maps are in Postscript and PDF formats.
