Description
From April to July 2081, an experiment at the Agriculture Knowledge Centre in Damauli, Tanahun, Nepal evaluated eight priming methods on maize seeds. The dataset, authored by Suraksha Neupane and shared under CC-BY-4.0, includes results from laboratory and field trials measuring germination, vigor, and plant growth traits.
Use Cases
Compare the efficacy of chemical (e.g., GA₃) versus organic (e.g., cow urine, neem extract) priming agents based on germination percentage and vigor index results.
Analyze the relationship between priming treatments and early vegetative growth parameters like plant height, leaf number, and leaf area index from field evaluations.
Investigate the impact of micronutrient priming on seed metabolic activation and nutrient availability as suggested by the study's conclusions.
Strengths
Experimental design is clearly specified, using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in the lab and Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in the field with three replications.
Results include specific, statistically significant (p < 0.05) measurements such as germination percentages up to 94.7% and plant heights up to 84.2 cm.
Covers both laboratory germination/vigor tests and field evaluations of plant growth at 30 days after sowing.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
The dataset is very small at 71.5 KB, indicating limited scope.
