Description
Containing measurements of Tetrahydrocortisone and Pregnanetriol hormone levels for patients with Cushing's syndrome, with a Type classification for most patients. It has 4 columns: patient label, two hormone measurements, and a type. The type for the last six patients is unknown.
Use Cases
Classify patient Type based on Tetrahydrocortisone and Pregnanetriol measurements using logistic regression.
Analyze the distribution of Tetrahydrocortisone levels across different Type categories.
Impute the unknown Type for patients u1 to u6 based on their hormone level patterns.
Strengths
Includes two specific, measured biochemical features (Tetrahydrocortisone and Pregnanetriol).
Explicitly identifies 6 rows with unknown Type, useful for testing imputation or semi-supervised learning.
Limitations
Small sample size; the total number of rows is not specified but is implied to be low.
Contains missing labels (Type) for a subset of patients, requiring special handling.
Provenance
Source
Aitchison & Dunsmore (1975, Tables 11.1-3).
Collection Method
Clinical measurement of hormone levels.
The 'Type' for patients labeled u1 to u6 is intended to be treated as unknown. The 'o' type code indicates 'other'.
