Description
Biosurfactant production was evaluated using five different oils as a carbon source, including soybean, frying, diesel, and lubricating oils. Two bacterial genera, Lysinibacillus sp. and Bacillus sp., were isolated from cosmetic industry sludge and diesel-contaminated soil and produced biosurfactants in all tested oils. The research, authored by Grazieny Aparecida Mendes de Almeida, found soybean oil yielded the highest emulsification indices of 50% and 46.63% for the respective bacteria.
