Description
A global dataset of nitrogen emission factors and combustion factors for biomass burning. The final curated data includes 1,279 data points for NH3, 1,075 for NO, and thousands more for other nitrogen species. It was compiled by Yuan Jiang from a global fuel consumption database and 103 peer-reviewed publications, and last updated on 2026-04-27.
Use Cases
Modeling global nitrogen emissions from fires based on compiled emission factors.
Analyzing combustion efficiency by fuel type and moisture content using the combustion factor data.
Calibrating satellite-derived fire emission estimates with ground-based measurement compilations.
Strengths
Contains 1,279 data points for NH3 and 1,075 for NO, among other nitrogen species.
Combustion factor data is derived from a global database and 1,066 unique measurement locations.
Data is curated with outlier removal (1.5x IQR) and standardized units (g N kg⁻¹).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
