Description
Pressure and temperature profile data were collected using CTD casts from the Northeast Pacific Ocean, Coastal Waters of California, and Mississippi River from July 25, 2005 to March 23, 2006. The data were submitted by the National Ocean Service (NOS) and are archived by NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information.
Use Cases
Modeling coastal water column stratification based on temperature and pressure profiles.
Analyzing seasonal changes in coastal oceanography based on the eight-month time range.
Calibrating or validating hydrodynamic models for navigation safety in the specified regions.
Investigating river plume dynamics in the Mississippi River based on the collected profile data.
Strengths
Data covers a specific eight-month time range from July 25, 2005 to March 23, 2006.
Profiles are from distinct geographic regions: the Northeast Pacific Ocean, Coastal Waters of California, and the Mississippi River.
Data originates from the authoritative National Ocean Service (NOS) and is archived by NOAA NCEI.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
