The Project on Human Development in Chicago Neighborhoods (PHDCN) Gangs instrument collected survey data on neighborhood gangs and personal gang involvement. It was administered to over 6,000 randomly selected children, adolescents, and young adults and their caregivers between 2000 and 2002 as part of a longitudinal cohort study. The data was collected by researcher Felton J. Earls of Harvard University to examine factors leading toward or away from antisocial behaviors.
