Beginning April 2006, this dataset provides monthly listings of cash assistance cases with earned income across New York State's local social services districts. It tracks the number of cases and average gross and net earned income for three program types: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Safety Net Assistance-Maintenance of Effort (SNA-MOE), and Safety Net Assistance Non-Maintenance of Effort (SNA Non-MOE). The data is sourced from the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) and is updated monthly.
The dataset is available on multiple platforms (Socrata, Data.gov) with slight metadata discrepancies. The Socrata platform provides the most complete column information.
