Description
Quebec's Land Transport Reference System (RQTT) is a common geographic reference for the province. It offers an integrated mapping of multi-use roads, the Quebec Road Network Reference System (RQRR), access roads, and networks from the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq). The dataset includes additional transport components like bike paths, railways, level crossings, air transport, and snowmobile and quad trails, contributed by multiple partners.
Use Cases
Route planning and analysis based on the integrated road and multi-use path network.
Recreational trail mapping for tourism based on the Green Route bike path and snowmobile/quad trail data.
Infrastructure inventory and management based on the components for railways and level crossings.
Spatial analysis of transport networks based on the combined data from multiple contributing partners.
Strengths
Integrated mapping combines multiple transport networks including roads, bike paths, and trails.
Based on contributions from several partners and collaborators, suggesting a multi-source approach.
Available in multiple geospatial file formats including SHP, GPKG, and FGDB/GDB.
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
