Description
R/V Laurence M. Gould LMG0109 data consists of underway measurements collected during a U.S. Antarctic Program research cruise. The NSF-supported icebreaker conducted global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The cruise leg started and ended at Punta Arenas, Chile, with data last updated on December 28, 2001.
Use Cases
Modeling planktonic invertebrate larval dispersal based on underway oceanographic conditions.
Studying connections between pelagic larval stages and benthic biogeography in the Antarctic.
Analyzing temporal changes in biological, chemical, or physical ocean parameters during the cruise.
Correlating ship-track environmental data with specific biological sampling events.
Strengths
Data originates from the NSF-supported U.S. Antarctic Program research vessel R/V Laurence M. Gould.
Covers multiple oceanographic disciplines: biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic.
