Description
2002 data collected during the LMG0206 transit leg of the R/V Laurence M. Gould, which operates in support of the U.S. Antarctic Program. The dataset consists of underway measurements for global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The voyage started and ended in Punta Arenas, Chile.
Use Cases
Analyze physical oceanographic conditions along the transit route based on the description of physical discipline data.
Study biological activity patterns in Antarctic waters based on the mention of biological discipline measurements.
Investigate chemical properties of the Southern Ocean based on the described chemical discipline data.
Model ship-based observation routes for Antarctic research based on the described transit from Punta Arenas, Chile.
Strengths
Data originates from the NSF-supported research icebreaker R/V Laurence M. Gould, an authoritative platform.
Covers multiple scientific disciplines: biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic.
