R/V Laurence M. Gould, an NSF-supported icebreaker, collected this data during a 2004 Antarctic research leg. The dataset contains underway measurements from leg LMG0408, which started and ended in Punta Arenas, Chile. It supports global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines.
Use Cases
Analyzing physical oceanographic conditions based on underway measurements.
Studying chemical properties of Antarctic waters mentioned in the description.
Investigating biological phenomena in polar regions based on the research vessel's mission.
Correlating underway data with other Antarctic climate studies.
Strengths
Data originates from the NSF-supported research icebreaker R/V Laurence M. Gould.
Supports multi-disciplinary global change studies in Antarctic regions.
