Description
The NSF-supported research icebreaker R/V Laurence M. Gould collected this underway data set during leg LMG0611. The leg operated in support of the U.S. Antarctic Program, conducting global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The cruise started and ended in Punta Arenas, Chile, and the data was last updated in October 2006.
Use Cases
Analyzing temporal patterns of oceanographic conditions based on underway sampling.
Correlating biological and chemical measurements for global change studies.
Studying physical oceanography along the Antarctic cruise track.
Modeling Antarctic marine environments using in-situ observational data.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker.
Covers multiple scientific disciplines: biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic.
Provides in-situ observations from a specific Antarctic research cruise (LMG0611).
