Description
Antarctic and Southern Ocean data was collected during the LMG0802 research cruise of the R/V Laurence M. Gould, which operated in support of the U.S. Antarctic Program. The leg started and ended in Punta Arenas, Chile, and the dataset likely contains biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic measurements. The data was last updated on March 16, -2008.
Use Cases
Analyze temporal changes in oceanographic conditions based on underway data collection.
Study biological and chemical interactions in Antarctic waters based on the multidisciplinary nature of the cruise.
Model physical oceanographic processes in the Southern Ocean based on the described measurement disciplines.
Correlate ship-track data with other regional observations based on the known voyage path.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker, suggesting institutional credibility.
