Description
Leg LMG1408 of the R/V Laurence M. Gould collected underway data for global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The cruise started and ended at Punta Arenas, Chile, and the dataset was last updated in September 2014. The data is supported by the NSF and managed by the U.S. Antarctic Program.
Use Cases
Analyze temporal changes in oceanographic conditions based on the underway data collection.
Study biological and chemical properties in Antarctic waters mentioned in the description.
Model physical oceanographic processes using continuous measurements from a research vessel.
Correlate environmental variables for global change research as described.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker, the R/V Laurence M. Gould.
Covers multiple scientific disciplines: biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic.
Provides continuous underway measurements from a specific Antarctic research leg (LMG1408).
