Description
The NSF-supported research icebreaker Laurence M. Gould operates year-round in support of the U.S. Antarctic Program. This data set consists of underway data from leg LMG1612 on the R/V Laurence M. Gould, carrying out global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The dataset was last updated on December 20, 2016.
Use Cases
Analyze temporal patterns in oceanographic conditions based on underway data collection.
Model biological and chemical processes in Antarctic waters based on multidisciplinary study data.
Correlate physical oceanographic measurements with global change phenomena mentioned in the description.
Validate ship-based sensor readings for polar research vessel operations.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker, indicating institutional support.
