Description
1999 data collected by the NSF-supported research icebreaker R/V Laurence M. Gould during leg LMG9901. The dataset consists of underway measurements supporting global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The cruise operated in the Southern Ocean, starting and ending in Punta Arenas, Chile.
Use Cases
Analyze temporal changes in oceanographic conditions based on underway time-series data.
Study correlations between biological, chemical, and physical parameters in Antarctic waters.
Model Southern Ocean dynamics using continuous measurements from a research vessel.
Validate satellite or model data with in-situ observations from a specific 1999 cruise.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker, indicating a controlled collection environment.
