Description
The 2003 leg NBP0303 of the R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer collected underway data for global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The voyage started and ended in Lyttelton, New Zealand, in support of the U.S. Antarctic Program. The dataset is provided by the organization SCIOPS.
Use Cases
Analyze temporal patterns in oceanographic conditions based on underway data.
Study biological and chemical changes in Antarctic waters based on the described global change disciplines.
Correlate physical oceanographic measurements with other Antarctic research based on the time-series nature of the data.
Strengths
Data originates from the NSF-supported research icebreaker R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer, a dedicated scientific platform.
Covers multiple scientific disciplines (biological, chemical, physical, oceanographic) for integrated global change studies.
