Description
R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer leg NBP0304A collected underway data for global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. The dataset originates from a 2003 research cruise that started and ended at Dutch Harbor, Alaska. It was contributed by the organization SCIOPS.
Use Cases
Analyze temporal patterns of oceanographic conditions based on underway time-series data.
Study biological and chemical changes in the Western Arctic based on the described multidisciplinary measurements.
Model physical oceanographic processes in the Arctic shelf-basin region based on the cruise's focus.
Correlate in-situ measurements from the icebreaker with satellite or other observational data for the 2003 period.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker, indicating a controlled collection environment.
Covers multiple oceanographic disciplines (biological, chemical, physical) as mentioned in the description.
