Description
The NSF-supported research icebreaker Nathaniel B. Palmer collected this underway data set during leg NBP1403. The leg started at Papeete, Tahiti and ended at Hobart, Tasmania in support of the U.S. Antarctic Program. The data, last updated in May 2014, supports global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines.
Use Cases
Modeling oceanographic conditions along a transect from Tahiti to Tasmania based on the described voyage route.
Analyzing time-series trends in biological, chemical, or physical parameters from the underway data.
Studying global change impacts in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions based on the research vessel's mission.
Strengths
Data originates from the NSF-supported research icebreaker Nathaniel B. Palmer, a dedicated scientific platform.
Supports multi-disciplinary global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic fields.
Covers a specific voyage leg (NBP1403) with a defined start and end point.
