Description
Antarctic research data collected by the NSF-supported icebreaker R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer during leg NBP1410, which started and ended in Punta Arenas, Chile. The dataset consists of underway measurements for global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. It was last updated by SCIOPS on December 30, -2014.
Use Cases
Analyzing temporal patterns in oceanographic conditions based on underway time-series data.
Studying biogeochemical cycles in Antarctic waters based on chemical and biological measurements.
Modeling physical oceanographic processes in the Southern Ocean based on underway physical data.
Correlating biological activity with environmental variables based on multidisciplinary measurements.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker.
Covers multiple scientific disciplines: biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic.
