Description
1996 data collected during the R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer's NBP9603 research leg, which started and ended in Cape Town, South Africa. The dataset consists of underway measurements supporting global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines. It was contributed by the organization SCIOPS.
Use Cases
Analyze ocean circulation patterns based on underway physical oceanographic data.
Study global change impacts in Antarctic waters based on multidisciplinary measurements.
Model water mass properties based on chemical and biological underway data.
Validate satellite or model data against in-situ Antarctic observations.
Strengths
Data originates from a dedicated NSF-supported research icebreaker.
Covers multidisciplinary global change studies in biological, chemical, physical, and oceanographic disciplines.
