From July 20 to September 18, 2022, the REACH Initiative conducted a statistically representative survey of 12,347 households across 66 accessible sub-prefectures in the Central African Republic. The assessment covers multi-sectoral needs including protection, health, WASH, shelter, education, and food security. Data is representative at a 92% confidence level with a +/- 10% margin of error for the entire population at the sub-prefecture level.
Use Cases
- Assessing sector-specific humanitarian needs based on indicators covering protection, health, and WASH.
- Comparing vulnerabilities between population groups such as non-displaced households, returnees, and internally displaced persons.
- Evaluating the perception of and satisfaction with humanitarian aid (AAP) across different regions.
- Analyzing the intersection of food security, livelihoods, and disabilities within affected communities.
Strengths
- Data collection covers 12,347 households, providing a substantial sample size.
- Survey is statistically representative at a 92% confidence level with a +/- 10% margin of error for the entire population at the sub-prefecture level.
- Assessment covers multiple sectors including protection, health, mental health, WASH, shelter, education, food security, and livelihoods.
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
- Data collection was limited to 66 out of 72 sub-prefectures, with inaccessible areas assessed via a Key Informant survey, potentially introducing coverage bias.
