Description
A spatial dataset from March 21, 2019, containing a register of private water supplies in Northern Ireland. The data, created by the Drinking Water Inspectorate and published by OpenDataNI, consists of 100m by 100m polygons randomly placed around registered supply locations. It includes supplies to public, commercial, or multiple private dwellings that were being monitored at the time of dataset creation.
Use Cases
Map the distribution of private water supplies based on the polygon layer.
Monitor compliance with the Private Water Supplies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017 based on the registered supply locations.
Assess potential public health risks from non-utility water sources based on the supply locations to dwellings and commercial premises.
Integrate water supply data into environmental dashboards for visualization as mentioned in the description.
Strengths
Data is explicitly geospatial, provided as polygons for mapping.
Dataset creation date (21st March 2019) and supersession date (5th June 2019) are clearly stated.
Data is downloadable in multiple common geospatial formats (SHP, CSV, KML, GEOJSON, JSON).
Limitations
