A five-day voyage from Nelson, New Zealand to Devonport, Australia in June 2009 collected biological and acoustic data in the Tasman Sea. The FV Rehua, a 65-meter vessel chartered by CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research, conducted eight three-hour deployments over 24 hours. Sampling used a MIDOC net system, a 38 kHz echosounder, and an Acoustic-Optical System to capture micronekton and acoustic reflectivity from depths up to 1000 meters.
